Breaking News!  The Outrageous Half has won the rights to host the UK TriGrandPrix world series triathlon event.


The Outrageous Half, a TriGrandPrix world series triathlon event will take place on May 30th 2010 at Leybourne Lakes, Larkfield, Aylesford, Kent ME20 6AA, United Kingdom.  With £40,000 in prize money, and the prestige of being a TriGrandPrix series event, the world’s top elite athletes will be competing with age groupers over an official half ironman distance - 1.9k swim, 90k cycle, and 21k run.

The Outrageous Half is the only UK TriGrandPrix event in 2010.  With places limited, and entrants expected from all over the globe, we advise early registration.

We are delighted to announce the dates for the Wednesday evening and Saturday morning sprint triathlons. Dates and details to enter individual races or the whole series are in the events section.

Our first cold water swimming event took place on January 9th, with some remarkable performances all round. Photos are on the results page and video on the Team Outrageous facebook page. Steve (Spike) Adams completed the 400 meter swim in -2c, his first ever cold water race. A remarkable achievement for someone new to swimming.

Xmas Day results now in results page and race report in news section. Star of the day was Anita MacDonald who completed her first ever triathlon, non wetsuit in 2c!! Well done Anita, it can only get easier.

Team Outrageous Leybourne S.C. are now members of The Amateur Swimming Association (South Eastern Region). Membershhip of The British Long Distance Swimming Association will commence in January 2010.

Entry now open for the - 1/2 Ironman distance race (Outrageous Half) (June 6th) and the Return of the Birling Beast Standard Distance (July18) All one-lap swim courses and both include the Birling Beast on the bike course.
Please note the reduced entry fee prior to 1st January 2010.

Open Water Swimming
Leybourne Lake -
To swim in the lake you need to be assessed and given health & safety briefing. There is a one-off charge of £35 for this. Once approved, you will be issued with photo ID that enables you to swim in the organised sessions and at other times. Only organised sessions are run with qualified lifeguards.

A warning to all traithletes traveling abroad - DO NOT use Monarch Airlines. They will rip you off with their bike charges!! You pay for return then get ripped-off with MASSIVE excess baggage charges on the way home. These people are scam merchants and obtain money by false pretenses - WE KNOW from bitter experience.. You have been warned.!!!
